Forehead reduction

Forehead reduction, also known as hairline lowering surgery or scalp advancement, is a cosmetic surgical procedure designed to reduce the height of the forehead by lowering the hairline.

How It Works:

1. Incision is made along the current hairline (often irregularly shaped to blend into the hairline naturally).
2. The scalp is advanced forward, lowering the hairline.
3. Excess forehead skin is excised.
4. The scalp is sutured in place, reducing the vertical forehead height.

Optional: The surgeon may loosen the scalp behind the hairline to allow more mobility and prevent tension that can lead to wide scars.

Typical Hairline Advancement:

• Most patients can achieve 1.5 to 3 cm of lowering.
• In some cases, a tissue expander may be used before surgery for greater advancement.
